Côte de Nuits 2008 on the Robert Parker Wine Advocate vintage chart

La Tâche 2008 from Domaine de la Romanée-Conti: a monopole rated 97/100

The 2008 La Tâche comes from a vineyard that the estate owns in full: 6.06 ha in Vosne-Romanée, a monopole. Robert Parker Wine Advocate rates it 97/100. Our suggested drinking window is 2028 to 2048.

La Tâche is a red wine from Pinot Noir and carries Grand Cru status. The appellation was first recognised by the decree of 11 September 1936. The estate acquired the vineyard in 1933. In 1932 it had applied for the vineyard, then called “Les Gaudichots ou La Tâche”, to be classed simply as La Tâche. The owners of the original La Tâche, the Liger-Belairs, opposed this and lost, and later sold their vines to the estate.

Estate farming around the 2008 harvest

The vineyards have been farmed organically since 1985. The estate ran biodynamic trials from 1990 to 2006 and adopted them across the estate after 2006; certification came in 2016.

When it replants, the estate uses its own selection of Pinot Noir, propagated from the old vines of the Romanée-Conti vineyard.
