Côte de Beaune
Chevalier-Montrachet Grand Cru 2012 1,5L
Domaine de Montille

ROBERT PARKER "Tasted blind at the Burgundy 2012 tasting in Beaune. The 2012 Chevalier Montrachet Grand Cru from Domaine de Montille has a difficult task following Philippe Colin’s example, without quite the same delineation or complexity. There are some attractive cold rocky scents, chalk dust and smoke and actually the more you become acquainted with the nose that more secrets it reveals. The palate is crisp and fresh on the entry, powerful for a Chevalier-Montrachet in this vintage with good weight, delivering a pleasing spicy finish. What is just lacks is that convincing class and sophistication you expect from such an auspicious vineyard. It represents a very fine white Burgundy, but merely a "decent" Chevalier-Montrachet."
