From Queen of Spades to Mr. K: Sine Qua Non in Ventura County

Sine Qua Non is a California winery in Ventura County. Its first vintage was 1994, a Syrah called Queen of Spades made in four and a half barrels, and the winery has since focused on Rhône varieties. Until 2021 each Sine Qua Non wine carried its own name, label and bottle style.

The fruit for this bottle comes from the Alban Vineyard and the wine is listed under San Luis Obispo County, so it sits in the California range alongside other American wines in the wine section.
