The Macallan Harmony Collection Rich Cacao: the first release of the series
Rich Cacao was released in October 2021 at 44% ABV as the first Harmony Collection bottling from The Macallan. It was made with the pastry chef Jordi Roca of El Celler de Can Roca. This 0.7 L bottle is a single malt Scotch whisky and carries no vintage.
Jordi Roca and The Macallan before Rich Cacao
Rich Cacao was not the first time The Macallan worked with the Roca family. Macallan Edition No. 2, released in 2016, was a collaboration with the Roca brothers of El Celler de Can Roca. The tea releases came much later, in 2025, with the Jing bottling released on 1 October 2025 at 44.9% ABV. Jing was made in collaboration with the tea brand Jing, was matured mainly in sherry-seasoned European oak with some sherry-seasoned American oak, and was released in global travel retail only.
Where the Harmony Collection went after Rich Cacao
The Harmony Collection ran for six releases. Later releases drew on nature (the third release, Amber Meadow and Green Meadow), the casks (the fourth, Vibrant Oak and Guardian Oak, made with Cirque du Soleil), the tea releases (the fifth) and coconut (the sixth and last).
