Méo-Camuzet Corton Clos Rognet 2003: one of three Cortons
Clos Rognet is one of the three single-vineyard Cortons made by Domaine Méo-Camuzet, next to Les Perrières and La Vigne au Saint, both acquired in 2009. This bottle is the 2003, a dry red Pinot Noir labelled Grand Cru, in the standard 0.75 L format.

Méo-Camuzet: Camuzet holdings, Jayer’s sharecropping, three Cortons
The estate is based in Vosne-Romanée in Burgundy. It became Méo-Camuzet in 1981. Étienne Camuzet, mayor of Vosne-Romanée and deputy for the Côte-d’Or from 1902 to 1932, left the estate to his daughter in 1946, and Jean Méo inherited it in 1959, and his son Jean-Nicolas Méo now runs it. Between 1945 and 1987 most of its vineyards were farmed by Henri Jayer under a sharecropping agreement.
Besides Corton, the estate holds grand cru parcels in Richebourg, Clos de Vougeot and Échezeaux. The estate today ages its wines 15 to 18 months in oak barrels, with 50 to 100% new oak depending on the cuvée. Grapes are harvested by hand and sorted at the vine.
