The Aux Brûlées parcel of Domaine d’Eugénie covers 1.14 ha, planted with vines about 70 years old. They grow on shallow clay-limestone soil and face south. Domaine d’Eugénie: the former René Engel vineyards since 2006
Domaine d’Eugénie is based in Vosne-Romanée, in the Côte de Nuits. It came into being in July 2006, when the Pinault family bought the René Engel estate after Philippe Engel died in May 2005 without a natural successor. The estate belongs to the Artémis Domaines group. Its vat room and cellar have stood on Rue de la Goillote in Vosne-Romanée since 2009.
The red holdings include over 1 ha of Les Brûlées, about 2.8 ha of village Vosne-Romanée, 0.5 ha each of Échézeaux and Grands Échézeaux, and 1.4 ha of Clos de Vougeot. The estate has practised organic and biodynamic viticulture since its inception.

How the 2019 vintage is rated in the Côte de Nuits
The Robert Parker Wine Advocate vintage chart gives red Côte de Nuits 2019 a score of 98 and the letter E. On that chart E means early maturing and accessible. The chart rates the vintage across the whole area, not this wine.
Michel Mallard was winemaker at the estate from 2006 to the end of 2024, so the 2019 was made during his tenure. The first vintage under the new ownership was 2006.
