Faiveley and its Clos de Bèze
Faiveley has been the largest owner in Chambertin-Clos de Bèze since the 1930s, so this 2014 comes from the appellation where the estate owns more vines than any other producer. Among the estate’s grands crus, Chambertin-Clos de Bèze is one of six in the Côte de Nuits, with Mazis-Chambertin, Latricières-Chambertin, Musigny, Clos de Vougeot and Échezeaux.
Nuits-Saint-Georges since 1825: who makes this wine
Pierre Faiveley, a native of Nuits-Saint-Georges, founded the estate there in 1825. The family still owns it. Erwan Faiveley took over its running in December 2004 at the age of 25, and he and his sister Eve, who joined the business in 2014, represent the seventh generation. The estate also holds Corton Clos des Cortons Faiveley, a grand cru monopole in the Côte de Beaune that Joseph Faiveley bought in 1860.
