ROBERT PARKER " More reserved than the Richebourg and Romanée-St-Vivant, the 2016 La Tâche Grand Cru unwinds in the glass with aromas of wild berries, licorice, rose petal, smoked duck and love, framed by a touch of cedary new oak. On the palate, the wine is full-bodied, rich and velvety, with a deep, concentrated but tight-knit core, its firm chassis of fine-grained, structuring tannins cloaked in succulent fruit, underpinned by juicy acids. The finish is long and reverberative. This is a stunning La Tâche in the making, but it is also one of the more reticent wines in the range and will demand some bottle age. "

Heritage & Collectibility
Domaine de la Romanée-Conti, established in the 13th century, commands a supreme reputation as Burgundy’s most prestigious estate. La Tâche Grand Cru, uniquely a monopole, distinguishes itself through a tightly controlled production rarely exceeding a few thousand bottles.
This 2016 release enjoys high demand among affluent collectors and investment circles, reinforcing its status as a sought-after asset with proven historical appreciation, making it a coveted heirloom for discerning portfolios.
Sensory Profile & Usage
This 2016 La Tâche engages the senses with a complex aromatic profile of ripe red berries, subtle violet, and earthy truffle nuances. On the palate, it reveals layers of silky tannins with a vibrant acidity that culminates in a long, refined finish.
Optimal service is slightly below room temperature—around 16-18°C—to best experience its evolving character. Ideal pairing includes gourmet dishes such as roast duck, venison, or aged cheeses, while proper cellar storage in a cool, humid environment ensures its exceptional longevity and continuous development.
