Bryant Family Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon 1995: Helen Turley’s vintage
Helen Turley was the winemaker for the 1995 vintage of Bryant Family Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon. She had worked with Don Bryant since 1992. The wine is a dry red from Napa Valley, made from 100% Cabernet Sauvignon grown in the estate vineyard. This bottle is 0.75 L.

The Pritchard Hill estate
The winery sits on Pritchard Hill, east of St. Helena, and its vineyard lies above Lake Hennessey. Today the estate vineyard covers about 13 acres and rises from roughly 900 to 1,200 feet. It is also known as Bryant Estate. Don Bryant, a finance executive who founded a wealth-management firm in St. Louis in 1967, founded the winery; he died in March 2025, and his widow Bettina Bryant now leads it.

Replanted to Cabernet: the Bryant vineyard
When Bryant bought the hillside, it had vineyards dating to the late 1960s and early 1970s that had fallen into neglect. He hired viticulturist David Abreu to replant the estate entirely to Cabernet Sauvignon. The label carries the Napa Valley AVA, established in 1981, and the wine comes from the California estate on Pritchard Hill.

After Turley: winemakers at Bryant
By October 2002, Philippe Melka had taken over winemaking from Helen Turley, with Michel Rolland joining as consulting enologist. Kathryn Carothers became winemaker in 2018. Winemaker Kathryn Carothers converted the vineyard to biodynamic farming.
