Grivot’s Vosne-Romanée Premier Crus include Les Beaux Monts, Les Suchots and Aux Brûlées; the domaine also bottles Les Rouges as a 1er Cru (recorded for 2020 and 2022). The domaine farms 15.5 ha across 22 appellations in Vosne-Romanée, Vougeot, Chambolle-Musigny and Nuits-Saint-Georges. It also holds three Grand Cru parcels: Richebourg, Échezeaux and Clos de Vougeot. The Clos de Vougeot holding is 1.86 ha. In Nuits-Saint-Georges the Premier Cru parcels include Aux Boudots and Roncière. Farming is organic without certification, with horse ploughing on selected parcels. Across the current range, the estate uses about 25% new oak for village wines, 30 to 40% for Premier Crus and 40 to 45% for Grand Crus, with 15 months in barrel.

Grivot generations: 2005 under Étienne Grivot

Gaston Grivot bought a plot in Clos de Vougeot in 1919, and Jean Grivot took over the estate from his father in 1955. Étienne Grivot, with his wife Marielle, took over in 1987. Mathilde and Hubert Grivot made their first vintage in 2010 and took full charge of the estate in 2017. The 2005 was therefore made in Étienne Grivot’s time.
