Domaine Georges Noellat in Vosne-Romanée

The domaine is based in Vosne-Romanée and has 5.5 ha in all, with vineyards in Vosne-Romanée and the north of Nuits-Saint-Georges. Maxime Cheurlin has managed it since 2010, when he took over at age 20. Grapes are usually 100% destemmed. New oak ranges from 30% to 100% depending on appellation and vintage, and ageing lasts 14 to 20 months.

Harvesting is by hand, and fermentation follows a cold maceration with native yeasts. The wines are generally bottled without fining or filtration. Some of the domaine’s vines were planted before World War II.
