Who owned and made the 2015

LVMH bought the domaine in 2014, from the Freund family. The 2015 was therefore made after the acquisition and before Jacques Devauges became director in March 2019. Organic farming began in 2019 and biodynamic farming in 2020, so neither applies to this vintage.

Grand cru since 1981, with one outside parcel

The Clos was raised from premier cru to grand cru on 27 April 1981. Domaine des Lambrays owns all of it except a parcel of under one ouvrée (4.28 ares) at the bottom, which belongs to Taupenot-Merme, so it is not a monopole in the strict sense. The Clos is divided into eleven delineated plots. After the 2014 purchase the estate’s holdings grew from 11.6 ha to 15.3 ha, including 0.3 ha of Clos de Vougeot grand cru.
