Gallé’s 1902 anemone on Perrier-Jouët Belle Époque 2014
The bottle of Perrier-Jouët Brut Belle Époque 2014 carries the Japanese white anemone that Émile Gallé designed in 1902. Gallé was commissioned by Henri Galice, then president of the house, and four magnums were enamelled with the motif. The 2014 is a white Champagne of the Brut style under AOC Champagne, in a 0.75 L bottle.

The 2014 is 50% Chardonnay, 45% Pinot Noir and 5% Pinot Meunier. The crus are Cramant, Avize, Chouilly, Mesnil-sur-Oger, Vertus and Mailly. The dosage is 8 g/L, and the wine was aged a minimum of 6 years in the house’s cellars. More than half of the house’s vineyards lie in the Grand Cru villages of Cramant and Avize.
The house in Épernay
Pierre-Nicolas Perrier and Rose-Adélaïde Jouët founded the house in 1811 in Épernay, where it still stands at 28 avenue de Champagne. Séverine Frerson became its 8th cellar master in 2020, the first woman in the role, succeeding Hervé Deschamps.
