Forey’s Échezeaux: Les Treux and Clos Saint-Denis

The vines are in Flagey-Échezeaux, while Domaine Forey Père et Fils is based in Vosne-Romanée. The estate’s own grand cru parcels in Échezeaux are the two sections named above, and it has been bottling them itself since 1983.

The estate vinifies its Échezeaux with about 70% whole bunches. This bottle is the 2020 vintage, a dry red from Pinot Noir, in a 0.75 L bottle.

A Vosne-Romanée estate founded in 1840

The estate was founded in 1840. Régis Forey, great-grandson of the founder, runs it, and his son Quentin now works with him.

The estate’s parcels lie in Vosne-Romanée, Morey-Saint-Denis, Nuits-Saint-Georges, Flagey-Échezeaux and Vougeot. In Vougeot it has rented a plot of Clos de Vougeot since 1999, which sits just below the Château de la Tour.

Before 1983 the estate bottled none of its own wine. In that year it bought Les Treux in Échezeaux and began bottling under its own label.
