Launched at the 2010 Habanos Festival
Habanos SA presented Cohiba Behike at the Gala Evening that closed the XII Habanos Festival in Havana on 26 February 2010. The line is sold in lacquered boxes of 10 cigars.
The Behike blend was the first to include Medio Tiempo leaf. The line is made in extremely limited quantities.
Tobacco from Vuelta Abajo
The Behike line is rolled with leaves selected from plantations in San Juan y Martínez and San Luis. Both zones lie in the Vuelta Abajo region, where Cohiba tobacco is grown. Habanos SA cigars are made completely by hand and carry the Denominación de Origen Protegida (D.O.P.) Habanos.
From Cohiba’s 1966 private brand to Behike
Cohiba began in 1966 as a limited-production private brand, and Cubatabaco formally launched it in 1968. The Behike line, presented in 2010, is a later addition to that brand.
The brand sits with Habanos SA, founded on 14 September 1994 and based in Havana, which manages 27 handmade-cigar brands, Cohiba among them.
