ROBERT PARKER ” Tasted at the Château Palmer vertical in London, I confess that maybe I’ve been harsh towards the 1990 Château Palmer in the past, since it never quite matched the sublime 1989. However, this represents the finest bottle that I have encountered. The nose is complex with red cherries, allspice and sous-bois, tertiary scents developing as it opens in the glass. The palate is medium-bodied with fine balance, not the most complex 1990 and not a patch on say Château Margaux 1990, yet there is precision here and a pleasant savory finish that maintains precision. I cannot envisage it improving further, but you would not throw your rattle out of the pram if a bottle landed on your table. Tasted May 2015. “

Sensory Profile & Usage
The 1990 Chateau Palmer offers an enchanting sensory experience. Decant this Margaux 1990 at least one to two hours before serving to fully unleash its complex aromatic bouquet, which typically reveals layers of blackcurrant, cedar, tobacco, and hints of truffle and spice, characteristic of mature, great Bordeaux wines. On the palate, expect a full-bodied yet refined structure, with velvety tannins seamlessly integrated after decades of aging. The flavor profile is rich and layered, echoing the aromas with added notes of graphite and earthy undertones, culminating in a long, elegant finish.
For optimal enjoyment, store this Vintage Bordeaux horizontally in a cool, dark cellar at a consistent temperature around 12-14°C (54-57°F). Serve at approximately 18°C (64°F) to best appreciate its nuances.
