ROBERT PARKER “Unlike the Charmes-Chambertin, the 2016 Mazoyères-Chambertin Grand Cru was a normal crop since it was unaffected by frost. This vintage includes 80 to 90% whole-cluster fruit. It has a majestic bouquet with bold black cherry and blueberry fruit, superb delineation and it conveys an almost infectious sense of energy. The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannin but there is that arching, cathedral-like structure one looks for in a Mazoyères. It gently grips the mouth, a little chalkiness coming though on the sorbet-fresh finish. Outstanding.”
