ROBERT PARKER “As always seems to be the case, this wine is Ponsot’s finest offering. Medium-to-dark ruby-colored and exhibiting aromas reminiscent of chocolate covered cherries, this full bodied, concentrated, rich and chewy-textured wine is complex, dense, and superbly ripe. Layers of blackberries, cherries, cassis, mocha, and fresh herbs can be found in this beguiling and exceedingly long wine. It is not the greatest Clos de la Roche crafted at this famous estate, but of all the vintages I have tasted, it should be among the most approachable and harmonious in its youth. Drink it between 2002 and 2009.”

Heritage & Investment Value Since 1872
Domaine Ponsot, established in 1872, is revered for its commitment to biodiversity and traditional Burgundian viticulture. The ‘Cuvee Vieilles Vignes’ draws from vines planted before World War II, limiting production and thus intensifying scarcity.
As one of Clos de la Roche’s premier cultivators, Ponsot’s wines command high respect in global auctions and private collections. Its limited magnum editions from 1996 continue to appreciate, reinforcing this release’s stature as a prime investment-grade Burgundy collectible.
