ROBERT PARKER ” The 2004 Dom Pérignon is one of the more reductive, autolytic vintages of this wine to have been released in the last decade, offering up a toasty bouquet of pears, green apple, iodine, peach and smoke. On the palate, it’s medium to full-bodied, satiny textured and fleshy, with a sweet core of fruit, a fine mousse and a vinous profile. The 2004 is drinking well today: as I wrote earlier this year, between the rich, ripe 2002 and the powerful but racy 2008, the 2004 is an excellent but more classically proportioned example of Dom Pérignon. “

This meticulous grape selection, combined with Dom Pérignon’s unwavering commitment to traditional production methods, results in a champagne of unparalleled finesse and complexity. The benefits of acquiring Dom Pérignon 2004 extend beyond its exquisite taste profile; it represents an investment in a globally recognized luxury brand, known for its consistent appreciation in value within the fine wine and spirits market.

Heritage & Collectibility
Dom Pérignon is not merely a brand; it is a legacy. Named after the Benedictine monk Dom Pierre Pérignon, who is often (though controversially) credited with significant contributions to champagne production, the house embodies centuries of tradition and innovation. Moët & Chandon, the parent company, further enriches this heritage with its long-standing reputation for excellence in champagne making.
The 2004 vintage holds particular significance for collectors due to its declared status as a vintage year, meaning it is produced exclusively from grapes harvested in 2004, a year celebrated for its exceptional fruit quality. Vintage Dom Pérignon releases are inherently limited, further enhancing their collectibility and investment appeal. Owning a bottle of Dom Pérignon 2004 connects you to a lineage of luxury and a history of exceptional winemaking, making it a truly valuable addition to any fine wine collection.
Sensory Profile & Usage
The Dom Pérignon 2004 is celebrated for its luminous and complex sensory profile. The bouquet is an intricate dance of aromas, initially revealing notes of fresh almond and grapefruit, which evolve into richer nuances of brioche and toasted hazelnuts with aeration. On the palate, this vintage champagne is both creamy and vibrant, offering a seamless integration of acidity and a refined minerality. Flavors of citrus fruits, white peach, and a hint of ginger create a long and elegant finish. For optimal enjoyment, Dom Pérignon 2004 should be served chilled, ideally between 8-10°C. Store horizontally in a cool, dark place to preserve its delicate character.
This prestige cuvée is exceptionally versatile in food pairings, complementing fine seafood dishes such as oysters and scallops, as well as delicate poultry and creamy cheeses. It is also exquisite enjoyed on its own, as the centerpiece of a special occasion.
