ROBERT PARKER ” A touch on mint-leaf on the super-smooth nose. The palate has a soft-entry, lots of glycerin with silky smooth tannins. Good acidity with svelte black tarry fruits. Very focused with fine lush finish. I don’t know whether this is a long-term wine but it is gorgeous to drink now. Tasted November 2003. “

Key Features & Benefits
Chateau La Fleur-Petrus, nestled in the heart of Pomerol, is renowned for its meticulous approach to viticulture and winemaking. The 1999 vintage benefited from a favorable growing season, resulting in perfectly ripened grapes that lend themselves to a wine of exceptional depth and complexity. Predominantly Merlot, typical of Pomerol, with touches of Cabernet Franc and possibly Cabernet Sauvignon, the blend is a closely guarded secret that contributes to its unique character. The vineyards’ gravelly soils and ideal exposure contribute significantly to the wine’s structure and aromatic profile.
Fermented using traditional methods and aged in French oak barrels, this Bordeaux vintage wine showcases the hallmark elegance and finesse associated with Chateau La Fleur-Petrus. The 0.75L bottle format ensures the wine’s longevity and collectibility, making it an ideal addition to any serious cellar.

Heritage & Collectibility
Chateau La Fleur-Petrus shares a lineage with the legendary Petrus, both estates under the Moueix family umbrella, solidifying its place among Pomerol’s elite. While distinct in terroir and style, La Fleur-Petrus embodies the same commitment to excellence and pursuit of perfection that defines Petrus. The 1999 vintage, now with over two decades of aging, represents a mature expression of Pomerol, showcasing the region’s ability to produce wines that evolve beautifully over time. Its vintage year, 1999, while not as widely heralded as some, has proven to be a sleeper hit, yielding wines of surprising grace and longevity.
This makes the Chateau La Fleur-Petrus 1999 an increasingly rare find and a highly collectible wine. For enthusiasts seeking to diversify their portfolio of fine wine investment, this bottle offers both historical significance and potential appreciation.
Sensory Profile & Usage
The Chateau La Fleur-Petrus 1999 offers a captivating sensory experience. Expect a bouquet rich with evolved aromas of black truffle, dried plum, cedar, and hints of tobacco, interwoven with subtle earthy notes characteristic of mature Pomerol.
