Macallan Edition No. 6 is the final release in the highly acclaimed Edition Series, a collection known for its focus on cask influence and unique expressions. Released in 2020, this whisky draws inspiration from the natural beauty of the River Spey that flows through the Macallan Estate. It celebrates the harmony between nature and whisky-making, highlighting the role of the surrounding environment in shaping the character of the spirit. For Edition No. 6, the distillery collaborated with key figures in whisky, fishing, and nature conservation, including famed fly fisherman Ghille Willie and the Atlantic Salmon Trust. The whisky was crafted from a combination of American oak and European oak casks, which were chosen for their rich sherry influence. These casks were handpicked by Macallan’s whisky makers to ensure balance, complexity, and depth in the final product.
