Macallan Edition No. 5 is the fifth installment in the renowned Edition Series from The Macallan Distillery, released in 2019. This edition is unique in its focus on color—a vital component in whisky-making. In collaboration with Pantone Color Institute, Macallan aimed to highlight the natural hues imparted by its 100% American oak casks without any artificial coloring, emphasizing the influence of wood on whisky’s appearance. The Pantone Institute created a specific shade of purple, representing the vibrancy and character of the whisky, making Edition No. 5 a celebration of both flavor and aesthetics.
