Dow’s Vintage Port 1962 is a remarkable, fully mature Port from one of the most respected houses in the Douro Valley. Made from a traditional blend of Portuguese grape varieties, including Touriga Nacional, Touriga Franca, and Tinta Roriz, this vintage showcases the aging potential and classic style of Dow’s.
In the glass, it presents a deep tawny color with brick-orange hues, revealing its decades of bottle aging. The nose is elegant and nuanced, offering aromas of dried fruits, fig, toffee, roasted nuts, spice, and a subtle touch of cigar box.
On the palate, the wine is silky and harmonious, with soft tannins and layers of prune, caramel, orange peel, and walnut, supported by a lingering, warm finish. Its signature Dow’s dryness and structure remain evident, even after more than 60 years.
A rare and distinguished vintage, the 1962 is ideal for collectors or special occasions, and pairs beautifully with blue cheeses, nut desserts, or dark chocolate.
