ROBERT PARKER ” This barrel sample has a crisp, arresting nose of blackberry leaf, a hint of red cherries, a stalky element that lends it a sense of urgency. The palate is sensuous on the entry leading to an overtly minerally mid-palate with hints of Doris plum, blackberry and blueberry. Like all great Burgundy wines, it has a telling crescendo of intensity towards the finish of boysenberry, blackcurrant and briary. Great potential: I suspect that this might actually be better than the 2004 La Tache. Tasted June 2008. “
Domaine de la Romanée-Conti La Tâche Grand Cru Monopole 2006

Exceptional Vintage Overview
The Domaine de la Romanée-Conti La Tâche Grand Cru Monopole 2006 is an exceptional and highly coveted vintage, representing the pinnacle of Burgundy’s winemaking heritage. This 2006 release, from the exclusive La Tâche vineyard, showcases an extraordinary confluence of terroir and tradition, yielding an investment-grade collectible with global acclaim. Fewer than a few thousand bottles were crafted, underscoring its rarity and desirability among discerning collectors and connoisseurs. This Grand Cru Monopole embodies a unique legacy in Burgundy’s rich viticultural history, making it an unparalleled addition to any elite collection.
Key Features & Benefits
Hand-harvested with meticulous attention to preserving grape integrity, the 2006 La Tâche was produced using traditional Burgundian vinification methods perfected over centuries. The Pinot Noir grapes are sourced exclusively from the monopole vineyard, renowned for its optimal limestone-rich soils that enhance mineral complexity and depth.
Unlike many competitors, this vintage benefits from organic viticulture practices and a gentle ageing process in new French oak barrels, which lend finesse and lasting structure. Collectors appreciate the wine’s investment potential, as its provenance and limited production confer increasing value over time.

Heritage & Collectibility
Domaine de la Romanée-Conti (DRC) has been celebrated for over a century as one of Burgundy’s most prestigious estates, synonymous with exceptional quality and rarity. The La Tâche vineyard, unique as a monopole, limits production strictly to DRC’s ownership, which elevates its exclusivity.
The 2006 vintage, marking a standout year within the domaine’s storied timeline, commands strong demand in auction circuits and private collections. As an investment-grade asset, it is prized for its enduring appreciation potential driven by scarcity and brand prestige.
Sensory Profile & Usage
This 2006 La Tâche Grand Cru reveals a beguiling nose of ripe red cherries, wild strawberries, and subtle hints of forest floor and truffle. The palate is exquisitely balanced, presenting layers of complexity through vibrant acidity, silky tannins, and refined minerality that culminate in a lingering, elegant finish.
For optimal experience, decant for at least one hour and serve at 16-18°C. Store in stable, cool conditions with consistent humidity to preserve its integrity over decades. Ideal pairings include roasted duck, game birds, and refined mushroom dishes that complement its intricate flavor profile.
