ROBERT PARKER ” There is an enthralling sappy richness to the floral and blackberry-scented 2000 Musigny. Supremely elegant, it is not quite as dense as the 2001 yet reveals outstanding depth, purity, and concentration. Lush, stony red and black fruits are interspersed with violets and tangy raspberries in its exceptionally long, expressive, plump character. Anticipated maturity: 2004-2012. The 2000 vintage is yet another success story at Domaine du Comte Georges de Vogue. After having performed an evasivage (the removal of excess buds after flowering), the Vogue team still believed they had too much fruit on the vines and dropped half of the bunches prior to veraison as they did in 2001. In the end, they harvested a moderate 30 hectoliters per hectares in a vintage where their neighbors set records. According to Millet, the fact that the yields were kept under control also served to ensure a “very healthy” harvest. “

Overview

From the esteemed vineyards of Domaine Comte Georges de Vogue comes the exceptional Musigny Vieilles Vignes Grand Cru 2000, a rare treasure from one of Burgundy’s most revered appellations. This vintage, rooted in the celebrated Musigny terroir, epitomizes over a century of Burgundian winemaking heritage, delivering unparalleled finesse and complexity. With fewer bottles released in 2000, it stands as an exclusive collector’s gem and an investment-grade wine that promises enduring value for discerning connoisseurs.

Key Features & Benefits

Crafted exclusively from old vine Pinot Noir, this grand cru benefits from centuries-old vines that yield remarkably concentrated grapes. Meticulously hand-harvested and fermented using traditional Burgundian methods, the wine embodies artisanal precision.

Its aging in French oak barrels enhances the subtle integration of tannins and rich aromatic layers, distinguishing it from contemporaries. Collectors will appreciate its provenance, limited availability, and the wine’s ability to evolve gracefully over decades, ensuring both immediate enjoyment and long-term portfolio appreciation.
